Perkins sponsors the New England Center Deafblind Project (NEC), which is housed on the school’s campus and funded by the U.S. Department of Education. Founded in 1969, NEC and its satellite offices in Maine, Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire assist children who are deafblind and their families and teachers. Highly qualified NEC staff provide resource information, workshops, consultations, and in-service training at local, state and regional levels.
